We now have an exciting opportunity for a detail orientated Payroll Assistant to join our team. Working alongside our Payroll Manager this role will take on a variety of payroll tasks and duties, primarily focusing on our UK payroll. Destination Sport s a growing company with employees in a number of countries so there are lots of opportunities for growth and progression in this exciting new role.
This is a varied & hands on role, as our new Payroll Assistant you will:
Work alongside our Payroll Manager to run the Destination Sport Payroll in the UK for our 400 employees
Ensure all payroll changes are uploaded including overtime, bonus payments etc
Manage starters, leavers and employee changes e.g. salary updates, changes in tax codes, etc
Manage the pension process ensuring all new starters are enrolled
Assist with end of year tasks – Issuing P60’s and P11D
Be familiar with HMRC EPS & FPS
Ensure compliance on all statutory requirements for payroll, pensions, and Healthcare schemes
Manage the Payroll inbox ensuring queries and emails are responded to, to agreed timelines
Process expenses, by managing and maintaining the concur expense system
Provide admin support collating and circulating the monthly headcount reports
Become fully competent on our payroll systems – ichris, isolved and Huddle
Assist the payroll manager, finance, and HR colleagues with payroll improvement projects
Work closely with the Payroll Manager managing payroll data, making changes and ensuring accuracy
Process mapping and supporting our payroll manager with payroll improvements
Maximise personal skills, knowledge, and experience to positively impact on performance and assist in meeting business goals
Maintain and work with our Payroll Manager to improve processes and procedures
Adhere to the organisation’s policy and procedures on information security and take whatever actions are required to safeguard data and assets.
Job requirements
To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience working in a manual payroll environment
Have experience working with payroll systems
Be confident in using Microsoft Excel with the ability to do VLOOKUP ups and formulate data
Demonstrate drive and ambition by being keen to learn from the current team and develop skills working on UK, and international payrolls
Be solutions orientated with a passion for problem solving
Show excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to work on all areas of payroll
Be able to work as part of a small team, but be proactive enough to manage own workload
Have the ability to build effective relationships with our outsourced providers
Have proven ability to consistently deliver within a fast-moving environment
Be proactive, with excellent attention to detail
Have the ability to build strong relationships with employees across the group at all levels of seniority
Be computer literate - including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internal systems
Have a strong desire to support with projects and work on process improvements
